An image from The Ranger's Tale: Broken Bow, a short fan film project about rangers set in Middle Earth that I am working on. :)

It is about a young ranger caught in a conflict between rangers and Easterlings in the early days of King Aragorn's reign.

I'm watching with great interest as you guys put this project together. Looks really fun!
Incidentally, have you ever ventured over onto the Middle Earth Ranger Forums? I bet the folks there would be very interested to see this when it's done, and of course it's always nice to have another fellow Dunedain on the boards :)

Yes, someone did send me a link to those forums before and I had a look around, but it was just a bit too intimidating for me! I'm nowhere near that level of dedication! ;)

Haha, to be honest, neither am I. I'm mostly in it for the costuming, but as I've hung around the forums a little I've become very interested in the rest of the "ranger lifestyle" if you will.
Anyway, you can be sure I'll at least be sharing your video on there when it's finished!

Haha, go ahead. =p
Have to say that when filming in all kinds of weather you quickly figure out what extra bits and pieces you would want to add if you had to live in the costume all the time! More waterproof (leather) layers, a bit of warm fur during winter and so on. ;D

Yeah, I bet. I'd imagine your "cold weather gear" - with the bits of your Jon Snow costume thrown in - worked pretty well in that regard.

It certainly did! Still want to have a long leather duster like Strider has; that seems to be the ideal thing!

Tell me about it. I found the PERFECT leather for it a few months ago, at less than half-price, but I couldn't justify the expense, so I let it slip through my fingers. I think I'm going to kick myself forever about that one. I've never found anything like it, before or since.

Frustrating when that happens! I've never really found the material I want for it - what I might do is buy a second hand long leather coat which is too large for me, take it apart and put it back together again more roughly. It's far less expensive like that.

It was at around one or two in the afternoon! But is was dark by four, so relatively evening-ish. ;)
Thanks! x)
