Arwen at Expo! The costume is nearly complete- I added the boots, but still have to finish the gloves and the decorations on the collar and sleeves.

Everything is made by me, including the belt buckle (which I cast in plastic).

I combined two patterns for wedding dresses and modified it through lots of trial and error with cheap fabric.
The grey fabric is suedine (or something much like it) with a white fabric backing. For the drapey sleeves I had to stick a layer of thin grey material on the backing so the inside wouldn't show up white. I made the leggings from the same material. The underskirts and sashes on the back are satin in different shades of grey. The undersleeves are crushed satin in a very light grey/lavender colour.

I think I spent about three weeks on this, though not working constantly. =p

I used a combination of two different wedding dress patterns for the bodice, and adapted them according to reference images from the film, and advice here: [link]

GJ!! the only little thing though is that for some reason the ears don't look right. i think they stick outwards too much.. the tollken elf ears where pointed up insteas of outward like other elves.. i donno ..its just a sujjestion
but i love the costume its awsome..
I can't believe you made the costume !!! O.O

Thanks! :D And I completely agree! Those ears are an a pain - sometimes I can get them on ok, but most of the time they're at an angle or just plain too big. What I'm going to try next is cut them smaller so maybe I can position them better.
